As part of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN) Project, the Zambia Ministry of Health and partners developed a 13-part radio series called “Bushes That Grow Are the Future Forest.” The aim of the series was to improve infant and young child nutrition practices.
Radio was chosen as a media because it was discovered that many of the target community members turned to radio for information on health. The project report details how content was decided upon, how scripts were developed, and audiences engaged.
The project report outlines many interesting lessons on how to develop radio that responds to community needs. It can be downloaded here (16 pages): http://www.iycn.org/files/IYCN_radio_adaptation_guide_083111.pdf
