Nigerian radio dramas seek to include community discussion
Date Posted: July 16th, 2012
The African Radio Drama Association, one of Farm Radio International’s broadcasting partners, is using community discussion in conjunction with radio dramas. ARDA is currently producing a weekly drama called “Sweet Motherland.” It explores the challenges communities face in the Niger Delta region, including unemployment, environmental degradation and inter-communal clashes, and provides a forum for discussion. ARDA is a women-led non-profit organization that focuses on different aspects of the radio process, including creative development, production and broadcaster training.
