Drought claims livestock in Zimbabwe
Date Posted: August 6th, 2012
Our first story this week tells how livestock farmers in Zimbabwe are suffering a double blow. A recent drought has meant pasture is scarce, while foot-and-mouth disease has restricted farmers from moving their animals in search of grazing land.
In another original story, we hear about a farm radio program in Cameroon. Farmers call in with questions, and an agricultural expert answers them on-air. Many more questions come in than there is time to answer. This simple format provides a valuable service.
Our script of the week complements the livestock story, and gives suggestions for livestock farmers who face changing climates.
Don’t forget to check the Upcoming Event section for a number of training opportunities.
Happy reading!
